ORIENTAL MEDICINE
Dating back over 3,000 years as a primary health care system in China, acupuncture is now wide spread in Asia, Europe and in the United States. As a system of medicine, acupuncture uses natural laws & energy principles in applying needles to specific points that serve a specific function. This regulates the free flow of vital energy for health & well being. Vital energy is strengthened or sedated, monitored & balanced to prevent or treat disease. Acupuncture is powerful medicine which aids in strengthening the immune system and serves to prevent disease, control pain, and increase both the ability to function and the quality of people’s lives. Often relief from symptoms is felt immediately, although relief may occur in the following days (or weeks), depending on the severity of symptoms.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes acupuncture and traditional Oriental medicine’s ability to treat more than 43 common disorders including:

Gastrointestinal disorders, such as food allergies, peptic ulcer, chronic diarrhea, constipation, indigestion, gastritis;
Urogenital disorders, including stress incontinence, urinary tract infections, and sexual dysfunction;
Gynecological disorders, such as irregular, heavy, or painful menstruation, infertility in women and men, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS);
Respiratory disorders, such as emphysema, sinusitis, asthma, allergies and bronchitis;
Disorders of the bones, muscles, joints and nervous system, such as arthritis, migraine headaches, neuralgia, insomnia, dizziness and low back, neck and shoulder pain;
Circulatory disorders, such as hypertension, angina pectoris, arteriosclerosis and anemia;
Emotional and psychological disorders, including, depression and anxiety;
Addictions, such as alcohol, nicotine and drugs;
Eye, ear, nose and throat disorders;
Supportive therapy for other chronic and painful debilitating disorders.

The Benefits of Oriental Medicine
Considers all aspects of the individual
Treats the root cause of the illness as well as the symptoms
Alleviates side-effects of Western Medical treatments
Enhances the body’s natural healing process
Drug-free
May cure many illnesses for which western medicine is less effective
Supports treatment involving Western medicine
Improves general health as it addresses specific conditions
Generally has no side-effects

Many conditions may by alleviated very rapidly by acupuncture and Oriental medicine. However, some conditions that have developed over a course of years will be relieved only with slow, steady progress. At Enso spa & therapy center we believe, that a positive attitude, determination and a healthy diet and lifestyle will affect the outcome of a course of treatment. Although Oriental medicine can treat most conditions, there are circumstances that Western medicine can be more effective. In such cases, If you don’t have a Western Medical doctor we have a large referring group of physicians that support and utilize our facility that we can refer you to. At Enso Spa and Therapy Center we see Acupuncture and Oriental medicine as a complementary to Western medicine.

Practiced for centuries, massage is a vital part of healthcare and is considered by countless number of physicians and fitness experts to benefit our general state of health and well being. Massage releases muscle tension and discomfort, reduces mental fatigue, increases blood and lymph circulation, facilitates the elimination of toxins and increases the functions of the body’s sensory receptors. A regularly scheduled massage decreases the body’s production of stress hormones in the body and stimulates the release of the “feel good” brain chemicals known as endorphins. Each treatment is based upon your individual needs.

Thai Massage
This form of massage is also known as traditional Thai massage, Thai yoga massage, passive yoga or assisted yoga.  It is soothing because of its emphasis on stretching and loosening the body.
The client is put into many yoga-like positions during the course of the massage.  The massage recipient wears loose and comfortable clothing and lies on a futon-like mat on the floor.  No oil is used with this style of massage.
A full course of Thai massage typically lasts up to two hours, and includes pulling fingers, toes, ears etc., cracking the knuckles, walking on the recipient's back, arching the back in a rolling action, etc.  There is a standard procedure and rhythm to the massage.

Bamboo Massage
Using techniques developed and taught by Nathalie Cecilia, LMT, moderate to deep pressure  is applied to large muscle groups using warm bamboo for an extremely relaxing and therapeutic massage.
